Encouraging Cards

Hello! Valerie here today with some quick and easy cards of encouragement or congratulations. It's almost that time of year for graduations, dance recitals, spring plays, and more. I've got the first two coming up next month for two of my terrific cousins. I used the Made and Montage lines to create cards to pass along to them on their day. The sentiments in the Made stamp set are so versatile and fun. I stamped the "live it & love it" onto the vellum with Staz-On Jet Black ink and used repetition of the stamp to add balance. I also used the dashed line from that same set for some faux stitching on both cards.

There's nothing better than giving something handmade. Enjoy the weekend!

Imagination

TGIF! It's Valerie here with you today. I made a layout featuring one of the Made digital die cuts and had some fun with Mister Huey. I combined bits and pieces from a few different lines, but mainly Made. My son's imagination is blossoming, and I love how I was able to incorporate Ormolu products into a layout that is perfect for showcasing the topic.

The new stamp sets are so versatile. I used the dotted line in the Made set to create journaling lines. It could also be used as faux stitching or a "cut here" line for the scissor stamp in the set.

Made

Hello! Valerie here with you today to share a super simple grid layout. I played with the new Made and Montage lines to create a layout that shares it's title with one of the new lines.

The color palettes of the new lines are so bold and versatile. I love all the orange! I used to really dislike the color orange, but since having a little boy, it has really grown on me. 

I lined up some pennants at the top with the intention of making them look more like arrows, and I really like the effect. I mixed in some patterned paper, and a layout of mine just isn't complete without some stitching.

Hi! Valerie here today with a multi-photo layout to share with you. I fit six photos on one 12x12 page and still had plenty of room for some fab Ormolu tags, stamps, and flair. 

I cut a couple Storyteller tags into smaller pieces and used them to embellish different areas of the page. I love using my tiny attacher to staple Ormolu's tags to my pages. It's so quick, easy, and cute.

I made my own star mask with my Silhouette SD and a scrap piece of cardstock. You can see some a little misting done with it below. So much fun!

Be Mine

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! It's Valerie here with a Valentine themed layout for you today. I love, love, LOVE these photos from my son's first Valentine's Day! Hard to believe he'll be turning four this year. I went through my stash of Ormolu product and pulled out a few pink, purple, and love related items and here's the resulting page.

 

Don't be afraid to use a non-masculine color palette like this one with pink and purple when scrapping the men and boys in your life. There's even florals thrown in the mix here. I cut the title with my Silhouette SD using the font Grand Hotel and stitched it down with two rows of stitching.

Hi everyone! It's Valerie here today to share my latest layout with you. I pulled out some Bungalow Flair and some other fun Ormolu goodies and put this layout together that shows my common morning wardrobe lately. We've been hanging low around here. It's not uncommon to find me in my robe and slippers not just for an hour or so while I enjoy a cup a coffee, but maybe...ahem...more like the entire morning. (I don't even drink coffee by the way.)

I pulled some patterned paper scraps and put them on a kraft cardstock base behind my photo. I love doing tone-on-tone and layered on some more kraft bits and pieces for a nice subtle textural effect. Add in some Ormolu to pretty up the page and it's almost finished. That little weathervane stamp is part of the Word Up set and is perfect for layouts about the morning or living on a farm—and I really do live on a farm.
