Last year I bought myself a planner thinking I would use it.
I didn't.
I do use it for jotting down appointments and important dates in the far future...but I find it really difficult to write down tasks and assignments on it so I had to come up with another system. I only work from my desk (I am a stay at home mom!) so I knew something that stayed in my view while I was at my desk would work well and so I decided to hang up three clipboards above my desk.
The first clipboard I decided would be a weekly to do list. I include everything on there, home or work related, because I work from home. I then thought a monthly clipboard would be beneficial to help me make monthly goals for myself- which I would later designate to get done on certain weeks using my weekly clipboard and break it down to specific tasks if necessary. The third clipboard I use as a catch all. I keep my random ideas, inspiration and other lists on there so I can see anything at a glance. I keep it somewhat organized with tabbed dividers.
This system worked so well for me all through 2013. Which was great because I had a lot of changes and I needed something to keep me on task while I was at my desk ( in those small windows of time!)
So for 2014 I decided to spend a little more time with the design of it since I will be looking at it on a daily basis. I realized it might be helpful to someone else out there so I thought I would offer it up!
I handpainted all of the months for the monthly organizer and thought a calendar would look so cute with them and so I made some matching 3x4 calendar cards, perfect for project life or sitting on your desk. So even if you aren't interested in the monthly goal sheet maybe the to do list might be helpful or the pocket sized calendar.
