You give Me something.....

Hey! Kasia here today with a new layout in my all the time favorite color combo! I just love mixing grey with mustard yellow and than adding some other colors to it! Today I decided to use navy and simple black and white. You can see here many Ormolu elements, mostly from older lines Word Up and Bungalow!

As you can see I cut my cards, tags and paper elements to create small accents for my page. It's a good idea to incorporate Project Life products and cards into your more traditional scrapbooking pages. I love making layers, and to create some on above page I used paper, paint, mist, masks, stamps and washi tape- I usually use whatever I have within my reach :)

100 days Review

Hey, Kasia here today with rather monochromatic layout :) Do you know that today is 100th day of 2013? When I realized it few days ago I got pretty excited and started thinking about what has happened so far in our lifes in 2013, so many smaller and bigger things have changed since we celebrated New Year. So this page is about it. I wanted to challenge myself to make it airy, light and monochromatic and I used many Ormolu tags from new lines to create my own mini embellishments.

As you can see I really like cutting bigger cards and tags and use these smaller pieces on my layouts. It's fun way to make most of the product and to create a cohesive look of the page. I added some stamps from Made line because I'm simply in love with them, I could use them everywhere!

I wanted to include more journaling than usual on this page so there are actually 2 more white mini notebook pages covered with my thoughts under the one you can see in the picture. I used a pencil for lighter look, I like that journaling doesn't compete with a photo too much this way.

Of course I couldn't finish without some medias- this time I applied some dark grey watercolor and also used it to create dramatic splatters on my layout. Life Is Grand flair from Made line summarizes the last 100 days of my year. How have these days been to you?

Spring LO with MONTAGE line

Hey! It's Kasia here today with a layout full of spring! Last week was super exciting- the spring has seriously arrived to Istanbul, it's warm and sunny and all my flowers opened so our home is filled with sweet scent. I wanted to capture this memory of spring awakening and used some of new Ormolu products which paired beautifully with my photograph!

On this page I created some layers of different elements and used Ormolu Montage items as accents and pops of pink around my layout. I love the multiple expressions on the tags and the shade of pink is just gorgeous!

I have so many more ideas to use these new elements, keep watching for more projects!

Visual Journal- different way to document everyday memories

Hey! Kasia here today with some fun project which I'd like to share with you. The idea of this visual journal was born last summer when I was looking for some fresh idea which would let me to document everyday life in a chronological order, a bit different way than through scrapbooking layouts. I was considering Project Life for a while, but I wasn't sure if it would work for me, I wanted something super simple, something I could take on holiday with me or make while watching a movie. One day I grabbed a notebook, some pens and crayons, simple stamps and photos and started playing with them. Since than I've been filling my visual journal frequently and I love how relaxing and easy it is. Today I want to show you one of the recent pages:

As you can see it's super simple! Just some photos, which probably otherwise would be stuck in my photo box forever, some businness cards I collected on that day, washi and of corse tags and stamps from Ormolu! The Words Up stamps are perfect for this project and I'm so looking forward to take them with me when we go travelling this spring! Here are some close ups:

What do you think about documenting everyday life this way? I think it's really fun thing to try! I love being able to take a simple set of supplies wherever I go and capture some memories when they are still fresh.

waiting for spring... hello converse!

Hey! It's Kasia here today, with another layout! Are you also impatiently waiting for spring? In Istanbull is still a little bit too early for it, but sometimes we get days with really great weather, lots of sunshine and amazing smell coming from the sea. On the days like that  I can feel the new season coming, I start wearing less layers and can replace my winter boots with a pair of beloved converses!

Putting these shoes on is one of the first sings of spring for me. I wanted to capture this transition season on my layout. I made monochromatic base and added some sunny accents using Ormolu's tags and badge from Bungalow line. I also used some navy elements to make a contrast a tiny bit stronger.  Here are some details shots for you:

If you are afraid of overloading your page with colro try this trick- make your base monochromatic and than add some tags to incorporate color to your page. The tags come in so many shapes and patterns but if you pick them from one set you can be sure that your color palette won't be messed up! Have fun playing and creating!

Imperfect Quick Pic

Good morning, Kasia here again! Today I'd like to share with you another project made with Ormolu's elements. The more I use these prodacts the more versatile and amazing I find them. On this layout you will spot many of Ormolu's tags and labels from Bungalow and Word Up lines mixed in between some paper layers and mixed media techniques!

I covered my background paper with some gesso, than played a bit with mask and mist to add some more color to it. When I was happy with my base I started layering Ormolu's paper elements under photograph and I added some washi tape and patterned paper pieces in between. Again you can spot some elements of packages on my page too :)

The photographs on this layout are from our trip to Poland and I actually took them with my Diana F+, as you know it's a film camera and photos from it very often come imperfect and I included thoughts about that in my journaling. I wanted to add some contrast to the page and used stamps and black ink to do that. I covered 2 cameras from Word Up stamps set with masking tape and ended up with a single image which worked great for this page :)

I added a tiny, layered element in the bottom right corner and my layout was done! I have to admit that I really like how all the pieces worked together :)

Below you can see all the Ormolu products that I used. I really enjoyed matching them with mixed media techniques on this page!
