So. Are you all ready for the holidays? If so, please don't tell me. ;) Just lie and pretend that you're like me and still haven't gotten to the lights or even the tree, okay?
Regardless, I did manage to make my first ornaments of the season with the boys yesterday. (We'll just ignore the fact that I have no place to hang them yet, lol.) It's actually an ornament idea that I've been meaning to do for a few years now, and I'm pretty happy with the results:
Aren't they cute? ;) They were super quick, too. Here's what we did:
- Took a wooden spool (these are 1.5" diameter) and painted the edges red.
- Cut some white cardstock to 1 5/8" x 6" and figured out where they'd wrap (so that we'd know where to start writing and not cover up the list when wrapped)...then had the boys each write their Santa lists.
- Added the fabulous fabric tags (trimmed slightly), felt snowflakes and brads.
- Attached the lists to the spools (I used double sided tape and a bit of glue).
- Added some bakers twine through the spool for hanging.
Easy-peasy! I love that I now have a record of what the boys want this year (and wish I'd taken note all the years before, too). Go try it!
