Creative Team | Week in the Life: Marti

Hello! Happy Friday! In fact, Happy Labor Day Weekend!

I am very excited to share my Week In The Life album with all of you. I used a 6x6 7Gypsies chipboard binder, but rather than using the plastic page protectors that came with it (because I didn't have enough for this project), I chose to use Bo Bunny's Naked Binder Refill Pages (also chipboard - because I had several packages on-hand). They two products combined perfectly, which saved me a trip to the craft store. I love when things work out like that.

My week began in splendid fashion: We had a hail storm, which caused massive flooding in my basement on Sunday. Due to this excitement, I decided to make my "week" begin on Monday and go through the following Sunday. The first few days (Mon. - Wed.) aren't picture-heavy. In fact, Wednesday's LO has no photos because I was so busy cleaning, moving furniture, and packing for our mini-vacation to Steamboat Springs that I neglected to take any. Rather than go back and photograph locations and activities to insert on this day, I just chose to keep it real and include the LO sans pictures.

For the "Here" and "There" Tags, I trimmed them and put photos behind the negative space so I could add a couple of extra images to the LO.

One of my favorite things about Ormolu products is how well they coordinate with one another. They are so versatile. I used several different Ormolu lines in this album:

Hey everybody! I'm so excited to share my Week in the Life minibook with you.

Let me start out by saying that I'm not really a Week in the Life project kind of person. I typically have issues with committing to large projects, and since this one requires me to do something every day, it made me a bit nervous!

I used a basic rectangle blackboard album for this project. On the front, I tried a technique I've been wanting to do for a while. I simply glued chipboard letters to the front, then once they were dry, painted the entire front the same color, except for the little peek of yellow paper in the center of the heart.

I wanted to use all small photos in my album. I feel like for this size, smaller is better, and I'm a sucker for mini photos anyway.

 Sunday started off with a bang. Photos from every part of the day, from church to time for bed. I chose to do list journaling instead of paragraph form. For me, this is easier than trying to make up a paragraph about why I made peach crisp for dessert or decided to organize my scarves.

 

On average, I took about six photos a day. I find that this number was pretty realistic for me...I forgot to grab my camera on a few days, so I had to make up for it in journaling and later in the evening (see, told you I was bad at this!)

I used the  Two-Day Hooray Days of the Week Buttons in Black to mark my days. I'm a total sucker for buttons, too.

 

For this page, I took the punch outs from the Negative Number Package Tags, placed them on my paper and used them as a mask. I wanted to throw in a few pages that weren't covered in photos to break things up a bit. After misting and drying, I used my sewing machine to make a scalloped border to give it some interest.

All in all, I didn't use too many embellishments. The buttons were a perfect fit for this project...just enough shine for what I wanted.

 Hi All!

Today I'm going to share my (mostly) completed Week In The Life album with you.  I say mostly because Mother Nature had other plans for me last week and over the weekend.  After an earthquake and Hurricane Irene, I think I'm done with weather phenomenon for months and years to come!  I do want to share what I have so far though!

Like Pam, I took a very laid back approach to my photos and my album.  I only took a few photos each day to capture what we did for that day.  Some days of course had more photos than others.  I also wanted to use only my stash, and the older the better!  Aside from the awesome Ormolu tags, everything else came from the stash bin.  I also did not make everything match because quite honestly our life each doesn't always match!

I used a 3 ring binder that I found at Target that happened to be on clearance (SCORE!), and used these inserts for photos and embellishments. I covered the front of my album with paper, but left the binding as is (yellow).

I took the top wider insert and used that as a base for the day of the week. Love the negative tags and for this one I misted it, then backed the negative "S" with paper.

There you have it-a simplified approach to my (partial) week in the life!

Creative Team | Week in the Life: Pam

Hi everyone! It is my first post on the Ormolu blog, and I am so excited to share with you my completed week in the life album. You may remember this post, which was a peek at what my album looked like before it came all together with photos+words+embellishments.

Before I share pictures, I just wanted to explain my direction with the Week in the Life project. Last year was the first time I did this, and I went very in depth with photos and words. This year, maybe because of the summer, I wanted it to be a smaller scaled album and be more of a snapshot of  our life right now. I used my phone for lots of pictures and just captured moments here and there, so the pictures aren't technically good...but I feel like they fit with the feel I was trying to accomplish with the album. As far as journaling went, I just recapped what the pictures were of.

So, now onto the photos of my album!

Here is the cover of my album. My album is roughly 8x8 inches.

Monday's opening page. Each day has a page set up like this with a 4x6 picture.

I used 2 page protector's for each day, front and back. Behind the 2 page protectors I added an envelope that I used to put receipts, papers, etc. in.

Some days I didn't take very many pictures, so I made some full page photos, which I really ended up liking;)

Creative Team | Week in the Life: kickoff

Remember back in this post when we did a giveaway for Week in the Life? Well, a few of the Creative Team members wanted to do Week in the Life and I sent them some items to give them a jumpstart on their projects.
