Gray? Grey? I actually prefer the spelling with the 'E' but here in the U.S. we use the 'A' so I went with that.
Many years ago, when we first moved into our house, my husband and I made a plan to paint every wall before moving everything in. I knew, right away I wanted to paint many of our walls in main living areas gray. I was so confident that I didn't even test swatches or think twice about picking out the perfect gray color. We got to work and each night had a 'painting party' after we got home from work.
A few months later I hated it. Don't get me wrong, I love gray. Gray is one of my favorite colors and a large percentage of my clothing is in fact gray. But, our home has poor natural light and I chose a medium gray color that looked almost like concrete. Yes, I felt like I was living with concrete walls.
So, over the next several months and years I went to work and repainted several walls. Not fun at all as I hate painting but from here on out I am buying test samples and thinking on paint colors for days...and then deciding on lighter colors because of the poor natural light we have in our house. Then seriously contemplating using white everywhere because I love it and it helps our lack of light issues and know I won't want to change it ever. However, I still love the color gray and I gravitate toward it for many purchases...especially clothing related.
I know these gray labels will be a frequent go to because of my fondness for the color. The perfect neutral, goes with everything color!
On another note, I am so happy that everyone is loving the printable labels! I'd love to see what you all have been using them for so if you have a link please feel free to post them in the comments or tag me on Instagram/ Facebook/ Pinterest/ Twitter etc. I primarily have been using them for scrapbooking but I'm brainstorming homemade gifts for Christmas and think these will be perfect for those also!
