Good morning! I'm back with a quick post this morning to show you a layout using the Merrymaker package tags. I literally swooned when I saw these during the sneaks Kaitlin showed us back in October, and I was anxious to try them- I really like the bold vintage-y font. They're a bit bigger than I originally thought, at about roughly 4 inches wide 2.5 or so. Nice. As I'm doing the December Daily again this year, I've been going through a lot of my seasonal stuff from last Christmas and winter, and found this photo of my son from last Christmas morning in my photobox. I had been wanting to use a b&w photo to play up the retro look of the tag, so it was perfect. I'm really excited about the mist I used on my background, and that I actually did something fairly 'techinique'-y by using chipboard snowflakes ( another thing I found in my stash, have had them forever) as a mask. I know all you seasoned 'misters' are probably snorting right now, but for me, this is huge! ;) I used a Maya Mist called 'Snow', and I'm in love with the subtle, shimmery effect it gives- definitely going to try it again. I added one of the fabric swatches at the top of the page, layered it with a Merrymaker flapper, and wrote my date in there. And I really wanted to use the ribbon on the bottom of the photo since it's the same one I used as my sock monkey's bow-tie- thought that was a cute touch. :) Simple enough, but I love how the tag title really punches up my layout.
Enjoy the upcoming weekend- I'm going to be starting my shopping, baking, and catching up on my DD- there's so much to do all of a sudden! Deep breath...
