Earlier this summer I saw this on Becky Higgin's blog and thought it would be perfect for a bunch of 5x7's I had from our family/engagement photos. I bought all of the supplies right away to do my own version but we just put it up a couple of weeks ago in time for Reiley's birthday party. Unfortunately the wall I put it on is in a hallway and has very poor lighting and not enough room for me to take a decent photo of it. But I did my best.
I have seen a few others use paint and/or stenciling for the background but I went a different route that might be a bit more expensive but a lot more easier...fabric. I found a neutral patterned fabric that was very similar to the wallpaper Becky used (because I loved it so much!). From there we just stapled the fabric onto the wall, used the molding to create the frame, and placed the photos on top. Pretty easy and I love how it turned out.
The total cost of the project was relatively inexpensive. I think the molding cost under $20 and the fabric was under $20 on sale. The frames are super cheapos from Target around the time they had all the back to school/college stuff out- I think total they cost me $10 (I think they were 3 for $5)
I especially like how it tied in all of the photos together. Little Jude was not born until after our family/ engagement photos were taken so I used some favorite photos I took of him and I think they look great along side our professional ones.
